University Choir

Our flagship choir combines enjoyment with challenge and performs at a high level. From jazz and contemporary works to classical repertoire old and new, it tackles a huge variety of music with style, commitment and perhaps just a little too much laughter. University Choir performs in all our major concerts and events throughout the year. Rehearsals often end in our spiritual home: The Dairy!

About University Choir

The music we sing is really varied, and can go anywhere from jazzy high energy big numbers to stunning intimate classical masterpieces. There’s usually something for everyone (but you’ll probably find you love it all, if singing in a choir is your thing!)

Come along to the open weeks at the start of semesters to find out!
The answer though is: Lots of fun! Challenging, definitely; but definitely fun. It’s a good social vibe and there’s a break when you can chat. Plus: Dairy afterwards…. (wind down drinks and social time)

University Choir performs a lot (one of the most) and in all of the big concerts. Last year we had a BBC Radio Berkshire broadcast, end-of-semester concerts, The Hexagon, performing for the mayor, etc, and performing in the big formal centenary celebration service.

As a flagship ensemble and one of our best, the expectations for Uni Choir are quite high. But all our ensembles expect commitment – both turning up for all (or almost all!) rehearsals, and turning up early enough to be ready to start on time (with music, pencil, blah blah blah!). Obviously, we understand sometimes things happen, but it should be rare, and you should always get in touch with us, and explain to let us know.
